RESPITE FROM THE HEAT:
The sun seemed to have taken a day off as it hid behind the clouds, much to the delight of the Delhiites who turned up for CP's Raahgiri Day , organised by the Delhi Police and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) along with Embarq India and supported by the Times of India. The weather and the anticipation of rain filled Raahgirs with joy and energy as they danced, cycled, played various sports and clicked selfies with enthusiasm. “It's been so hot for the last couple of weeks. Though we've been coming for Raahgiri regularly , we usually don't stay more than an hour because of the heat.Today, we are staying till traffic resumes and will hopefully get to dance in the rain,“ said Sameer, a college student, who had come with his friends.
LOVE AT RAAHGIRI:
The TOI stage had performances that not just entertained the onlookers but also tickled their funny bone. Members of the Delhi Academy of Laughter Yoga got everyone laugh ing with their crazy antics. After a laughter session, Rahul, the frontman of Jaaltheband, got the audience mem bers grooving to tracks like Jeena Jeena, Khamoshiyan, and Phir Mo habbat. A group of Punjabi boys also showed their bhangra moves on the stage. Piyush, a beatboxer who got on stage and performed, spoke to us about his Raahgiri love saga. “I broke up with my girlfriend at Raahgiri and I found my new girlfriend, whom I'd I like to spend my life with, at Raahgir. So, thank you Raahgiri!“ he said.
