This edition of CP's Raahgiri Day at witnessed both swag and sensitization. As people came out in large numbers to participate in the weekly event organised by Delhi Police and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) along with Embarq India and supported by The Times of India, one could easily notice that the summer heat had given their wardrobe a makeover. Raahgirs were seen donning shades, caps, sleeveless tees and shorts, as they took frequent breaks to relish ice creams and cool beverages. The vigilant cops at the venue even segregated the boys and girls, who were busy dancing, when they `sensed some trouble' might brew.
Many groups asking for donations for earthquake victims in Nepal were spotted at the venue. “We have a team in Nepal and we would be sending whatever cash and goods we have collected to them. People have been really generous with their donations,“ said Nishant, a volunteer collecting donations on Raahgiri Day . A bunch of people also came and celebrated World Laughter Day . “Keep laughing. It makes you feel energetic,“ said Anil Nagar, who came from Indirapuram. We even spotted a bunch of girls raising awareness about menstruation.
